Scope and Content

On 1 Feb 1791, John Forlow of Cambridge, common brewer, leased to Richard Wallis of Cambridge, grocer, a 'new bricked building' in Post Office Yard, Cambridge, opposite the tenement now occupied by William Jardine Purchas esq of Cambridge (see Doc 1886), for 37.25 years at an annual rent of #4 (see Doc 1890). In consideration of #110, Wallis now assigns the remainder of his lease to Purchas. Signed and sealed by Wallis, witnessed by Ed Randall and William Clarke, duty stamps. Endorsed with receipt for consideration money, same date and witnesses. Further endorsed: 'No 3', and (in pencil): 'Cambridge / Post Office Yard'.
