Scope and Content

The Royal Astronomical Society's story is of a group of people who advanced our understanding of the nature of the wider cosmos and the planet we live on. For two centuries the astronomers and geophysicists of the RAS were - and continue to be - instrumental in developing our knowledge of the Earth, the Sun and solar system, the stars, the Milky Way and other galaxies, and the origin, evolution and fate of the universe as a whole. The Society is an enduring home for the people, ideas, discoveries, conversations and exchanges which made that possible.
