Senta Hirtz Collection

This is a very small collection consisting of two programmes of Medau events and photographs of Senta Hirtz and others performing Medau movement.

Senta Hirtz trained in the Medau technique in the early 1930s in Berlin and emigrated to London as a refugee from Nazi Germany in 1936. She trained as a physiotherapist and then trained with the Jewish Relief. At the end of the Second World War she was in one of the early relief teams in the concentration camp Bergen-Belsen. She continued to live in London for the rest of her life.

The collection has arranged into the following series:

• 2/ Programmes, 1969; 1978, 2 items
• 3/ Papers, 1945; 1998, 2 items
