• Some of the Papers of John Sampson can be found in the Manuscript sequence at Special Collections and Archives, University of Liverpool, at MS.4.19 and MS.22.16. The correspondence of John Sampson and J. Glyn Davies (ca.1892-1893 - 1928) can be found at Liverpool University Archives at P.159. His correspondence and papers relating to the Gypsy Lore Society can be found in the Gypsy Lore Society Archive at the University of Liverpool. Letters to Sampson from Augustus John are held at the National Library of Wales, and letters to Arthur Symmons are held at Princeton University Library
• The Papers relating to the practice of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, reader in Ecclesiastical Architecture 1904-c.1955, are he;d at the British Architectural Library, Royal Institute of British Architects
• A small collection of notebooks and papers of Professor Robert Shackleton, FRS (1909-2001; BSc Hons. in Geology 1930, PhD 1933, George Herdman Professor of Geology 1948-62) are currently (October 2007) being listed by NCUACS and will be held at the London Geological Society
• The Papers of Professor Philip M. Sheppard, F.R.S., subsequently Lecturer, Reader and Professor of Genetics, are held at the American Philosophical Society Library  and the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford
• The Papers of Professor Charles Scott Sherrington are held as part of the Manuscripts sequence at Special Collections and Archives, University of Liverpool at MS.3.1(40) and MS.26.3(1-33);  further papers are to be found in the Sherrington Collection, University Laboratory of Physiology, Oxford, The Royal Society, , Medical Research Council, University of British Columbia, Woodward Biomedical Library, Wellcome Library for the History and Understanding of Medicine and the Churchill Archives Centre, University of Cambridge
• An obituary of Professor Sir Robert Shields (Chair of Surgery 1969-1996) appeared in The Daily Telegraph 9 October 2008.
