Scope and Content

A notebook containing poetical works in the hand of John Roose Williams, original compositions and translations, 29 May 1926. Also, a typescript thesis entitled The Life and Work of William John Parry, Bethesda, with manuscript amendments, 1953.

Administrative / Biographical History

John Roose Williams was a student at the University College of North Wales between 1925 and 1930. He is the author of several books, on socialism in particular. In addition, he was a contributor of many articles to the Transactions of the Caernarvonshire Historical Society.

Amongst his publications are, The flame of Welsh freedom - Fflam Rhyddid Cymru (1944) and Quarryman's Champion : the life and activities of William John Parry of Coetmor (1978).
