Scope and Content

CORRESPONDENCE, newspaper cuttings, official forms and other papers relating to the Carmarthen Town and Hospitality committee, part of the local organising committee. This was the first post-war Royal Welsh Show and on Wednesday 6th August, it was attended by H.R.H.Princess Elizabeth.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Royal Welsh Show is organised by the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society, which was formed in 1904. Today, the show takes place in July of each year, at Llanelwedd, near Builth Wells, in Powys, Mid Wales.

The depositor's father, Mr. Cyril Thomas, was secretary to the Hospitality committee.
