Scope and Content

For homage and service, and in consideration of 30s as gressum, Warin de Ver'n, with the assent of his wife Margery, confirms his gift to William Quarrel and to Quarrel's heirs all that land which Robert Priur held of Warin. To be held of Warin and his heirs to William, his heirs or assigns, excepting a religious house. Reserving annual quit-rent of one penny or a pair of gloves 'ad placitum ipsius Willelmi' for all services. Witnessed by Nigel ?Damundavill, Master Radulf rector of the church of Suho [Southoe, Huntingdonshire?], Richard de Luvetot, William de Sedfeld, Simon Fin, Robert Fin, Geoffrey Fin, William de Waldesilf', William Cunrey, and many others. Tag, seal wanting. Endorsement of identification in a modern hand.
