Scope and Content

Royal grant, at the suit of Roger de Swynnerton, of liberty of warren in the manor of Ellesfeld [Elsfield], Oxfordshire, to Gilbert de Ellesfeld and his heirs. Witnessed by W[alter Reynolds] archbishop of Canterbury, J[ohn Stratford] bishop of Winchester, W[illiam Ayermine] bishop of Norwich, Edmund of Woodstock, earl of Kent 'avunculo nostro carissimo', Thomas de Wak', William la Zousch of Assheby, John de Roos seneschal, and others. Corded bi-coloured silk pendant green (First) Great Seal (damaged). ?Fifteenth-century identifying endorsement. Further endorsed in pencil: '5'.
