Administrative / Biographical History
This collection was organised by the Leicestershire Branch of British Red Cross. During the Second World War, the Red Cross and Auxiliary hospitals sprung up rapidly and mainly used Voluntary Aid Detachments (VADs) to provide nursing care to those effected by the war.
