Administrative / Biographical History

The National Association of Schoolmasters/Union of Women Teachers was formed in 1976 by the merger of the National Association of Schoolmasters, the Union of Women Teachers and the Scottish Schoolmasters' Association. The former two unions had co-operated since 1970 in the "Joint Two Alliance". Reference: Guide to the Modern Records Centre, University of Warwick Library, 1977.
