Papers and photographs relating to his service with the Royal Scots, 1916, 1920, 1922, 1926, principally comprising his report on the failure of the attack on the German line at Longueval by 16 Royal Scots Regt during the first Battle of the Somme, 3-4 Aug 1916, dated 8 Aug 1916; associated correspondence, notably a confidential letter to Commander, 3 Corps from Maj Gen L Nicholson, Commanding 34 Div, giving his assessment of the incident, 18 Aug 1916.
