Photographs used in 'Vergoldete Bronzen' and other photographs compiled by Ottomeyer during the course of his research, nearly all the photographs have an information sheet attached. The Archive also contains other materials including photocopies of articles, copies of original documents, personal photographs, contact sheets and negatives, and guide books.

Administrative / Biographical History
Professor Hans Ottomeyer (1946- ) is an art historian specialising in French gilt bronze. He has worked at the Munich City Museum (as Curator and Head of the Furniture Department), the State Museums of Kassel (as Director) and the Foundation Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin (as General Director).
He has written extensively on gilt bronze and furniture. One of his books 'Vergoldete Bronzen' (Gillded Bronzes), which was written with Peter Proschel and published in 1986, has become the standard work on the subject. It also had contributions from many international scholars, including former Director of the Wallace Collection Sir Francis Watson.
