Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The farm records refer chiefly to properties owned in the later 19th century by Viscount EVERSLEY of Heckfield Place, Hampshire. Moor Place, (to which the accounting records in HAN 7/2/22 appear to relate), was occupied from 1780 to 1822 by Thomas Bunch. He was succeeded in October 1822 by James Ellis. By about 1890 the farm had changed its name to Geale's Farm. The Crondall Manor Court at which copyholds were surrendered may have been not at Crondall [village] Hampshire, but at Crondall End, near Moor Place.
