Administrative / Biographical History
The Steel Screw Steamer Bangor was built by Scott & Sons, Bowling in 1894. Her first owner was Anglesey Shipping Co. Ltd. - Owen T. Jones, Port Penrhyn. Subsequent owners: 1911 Baron Penhryn; 1920 Thomas J. W. Humphreys, appointed as manager and 1933 Alexander Johnston, Kilroot, (Samuel Gray, Belfast manager). In 1934 whilst on a voyage from Portland to Belfast with a cargo of stone she was stranded on Ballyquinton Point, and subsequently sank.
