Scope and Content

An edition in Greek of The Prometheus Chained by Aeschylus, reprinted from the text of Augustus Wellauer (London 1839), interleaved with extensive manuscript additions in English by R.J. Jones, 1859.
The main manuscript additions comprise line by line English or Latin translations of significant words and phrases, and notes on points of Greek accidence. The endpapers are inscribed with quotations from Latin commentaries on Aeschylus's tragedies, a list of characters in this play and brief biographical notes in English.
