Administrative / Biographical History
John Morgan Jones was born in 1873 in Cwmaman, Carmarthenshire. He graduated in English at Cardiff University in 1894 and then went to Brecon to study Divinity, before moving to Mansfield College, Oxford and graduating in Divinity in 1899.
In 1900 he was ordained a minister at the English Congregational Church, the Tabernacl, in Aberdare. In 1914 he started teaching at the Bala-Bangor College, Bangor on the subject of the History of the Church and English Literature. In 1926 he became Principal of the College, following the death of Thomas Rees.
Rev. John Morgan Jones is the author of several publications including, Y Tadau Pererin : eu Hanes a'u Neges (1920), Dysgeidiaeth Iesu Grist (1921), and Y Testament Newydd : ei hanes a'i gynnwys (1930). He died in 1946 and is buried at Glanadda cemetery, Bangor.
