This collection of documents relates to the management of the river Thames after the appointment of a body of Commissioners in 1605, to the schemes for improvements after 1769 and to various projected and completed canals to complement river navigation. The documents were found at County Hall in 1947/8 and assigned accession number 126. They were previously catalogued under the prefix CH/N.
