Administrative / Biographical History
William John Jarvis (fl. 1918-1989) of Carmel, Groeslon, Llandwrog, Caernarfonshire, was a local historian. His main interest was the slate industry in Dyffryn Nantlle, having himself worked at Pen y Bryn Quarry. He later became a teacher and lecturer. He was married to Mair Jarvis (née Jones, died 1985) who was the conductor of 'Llethrau'r Cilgwyn' Cerdd Dant choir.
