Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
New Theatre at the University of Nottingham has its roots in the student's Dramatic Society (DramSoc) that began in 1927 and continued into the 1980s. The theatre was set up in the early 1970s and a student Theatre Group ran in parallel with DramSoc to assist in set building, administration and stage management. This group was later renamed the Theatre Production Group. The theatre produces on average three shows each term and often sends two productions to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
