Administrative / Biographical History
Richard Greenaway, family historian and librarian, attended the University of Canterbury, where he completed a B.A. in English and History before writing his M.A. thesis. He was archives assistant at the Hocken Library for two years, and attended the New Zealand Library School in 1979. He became archivist at Canterbury Public Library in 1980, and was subsequently given responsibility for Genealogy Services. Henry Selfe Selfe (1810-1870) was a London magistrate. He was a member of the Canterbury Association, and the agent in England for the Province of Canterbury, 1856-1866.
