Scope and Content

Typescript of the family tree of the Christie family.

Beginning with Andrew Christie of Ferrybank, 'town clerk of Cupar', [Fife], who married Margaret, daughter of Charles Dempster, banker of St Andrews [Fife] by whom he had eleven sons and five daughters, with details of their marriages etc. No dates given. Appended is a manuscript memorandum of the service history of Major General John Christie of the Indian Army, January 1903.

Additionally, a Xerox copy of a typescript, in the possession of Mrs G Jack, of a genealogy of the Christie family of Ferrybank, compiled c.1980, giving information supplementary to the above.

Administrative / Biographical History

Ralph Richardson was commissary clerk and probate registrar in Edinburgh, and compiled the family tree. He had married Melville Elizabeth Fleming, a granddaughter of Melville Christie.
