Scope and Content

Master William de Englefeld gives to his brother Th[omas?], rector of the church of Englefeld, and to Thomas's successors, property next to his court, in return for a piece of land between Halfcroft and Bencroft before the house of Peter Mazelin in Englefeld. Various rights of entry and digging reserved. Indenture, witnessed by Robert de ?Hullintune, ?Nicholas ?Muanit, John de la Hose, Roger de Witchurche, Richard de ?Hethelharstone, ?James ?Dismars, Alan de Englefeld, ?Pitus de ?Hinnel, and others. Endorsed in a slightly later hand: 'inter dominus Willelmus de Engle / felde et Thomam Englefeld / fratrem suum rectore ecclesie de / Englefelde'. No seal, the bottom of the endorsement has been cut away.
