John Throssell, of Elsworth, miller and baker, a copyholder or customary tenant surrendered to the Lord of the Manor by the hands of William Hodge, a like customary tenant all that cottage with appurtenances situate in Elsworth with everything appertaining. And the reversion and all the estate thereof [surrenders?] to the use and [behoof?] of James Loomes of Whittlesea, Isle of Ely and Cambs, gent. And to his heirs ... Provided that if John Throssell or his heirs pay to James Loomes or his heirs the sum of £200 with lawful interest on or upon 23 Aug. next ensuing without deduction ... Then this surrender to be void. Signed by John Throssell and William Hodge. Endorsed by Mr. Throssell to Mr. Loomes (conditional surrender for securing £200).
