Administrative / Biographical History
John Hill Harries held an estate at Priskelly, Mathry, Pembrokeshire, in 1815. He married Frances Jordan of Haverfordwest in 1807. Their eldest son was George Jordan Harries (1815-1865) of Priskilly and Heathfield, who married Susannah Skrine, of Warleigh, Somerset. Their eldest son, John Henry Harries of Heathfield (1840-1883) married Ellen Eliza Florence Murray. The Harries family built Heathfield, Letterston, Pembrokeshire, at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1804, it was the home of Margaretta Theodosia Williams, sister of John Hall Harries. In 1877, the Harries family moved to the Tregwynt estate, in the parishes of Granston and Mathry, Pembrokeshire.
