Whereas the Master, Fellows and Scholars of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, by Indenture dated 1777 let to King Whittred of Cambridge certain premises in Cambridge, which was in the occupation of King Whittred for a term of forty with a proviso against alienation without written licence; and whereas King Whittred by will devised the premises to his sons John Whittred and Thomas Whittred for the remainder of the term; and whereas John Whittred and Thomas Whittred have assigned their title to Thomas Whittred without licence being obtained; The Master, Fellows and Scholars grant licence that the assignment should be valid.
