Administrative / Biographical History
The Stanley Sailor's Hospital was opened in 1871 and closed about 1996. Connected to the Shipwrecked Mariners' Royal Benevolent Society and The Royal National Lifeboat Institution. The Superintendent of the home was Mr Seal. The home was open everyday and provided beds, reading and writing rooms and refreshments.
