Scope and Content

This extensive collection of over 2,000 works on science, technology and natural theology, mainly of the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, was deposited in the Templeman library by Dr. R.E.W. Maddison. The works of Robert Boyle (1627-1691) and Joseph Priestley (1733-1804) are particularly well represented.

A consignment of papers and articles received after Dr. Maddison's death has not yet been catalogued.
