    • 1 vol. (205 ff.) Modern pencil foliation. The following folios are blank: 30, 170-7, 188, 192-6. Leather binding, stamped with initials WB. Two parchment manuscript fragments form part of the binding. On the one at the end are inscribed the names "James Smith" and "Ramaell Launcelot James Righerdonn".

Scope and Content

Contains miscellaneous notes, mainly summaries in Latin of works of Aristotle, Cicero, Homer, and Hesiod, as follows: (1) ff.1-27: Ex Ethicis lib.1, cap.1 (- to lib.3); (2) ff.28-9: Verba similia, nomina similia & contraria (Greek & Latin); (3) f.31: Homeri Ilias prima; (4) f.34: [Peri geneseos kai phthoras]; (5) ff.45-52: Phrases collecta e quaestionibus Tusculanorum, liber 5; (6) ff.52-85: Ex Polit. lib.1, cap.1 (- lib.3); (7) f.85v: Homeri Odissea prima; (8) ff.112-134: Notes on the "Topica"; (9) f.135v: De principiis rerum naturalium, lib.1, cap.1, and De naturali philosophia; (10) ff.140-141: Ex officiis Ciceronis, Liber 1 de caelo; (11) f.143: Rudimentorum cosmographicorum Joannis Hunteri, lib.1; (12) f.144: Ex Cicerone de divinatione, lib.1; (13) f.178: Ex libris de anima; (14) f.186: De natura deorum, lib.1; (15) f.189: De finibus, lib.1; (16) f.198v: Hesiodi poetae insignissimi sententiae; (17) f.202r: Orationis contra Sophistas translatio; (18) The following notes have been added by Anthony Higgin, namely: (i) f.190v: "Anno 1607 a festo Sti Michaelis Rec. of W.
