Administrative / Biographical History
R. W. Williams, Esq., of Caernarvon was the secretary of the North Wales Quarrymen's Union. In 1960, he was the Chairman of the Caernarvonshire Industrial Committee. The Dorothea Slate Quarry Company Limited was one of the companies operating in the Nantlle Valley. In 1949, it was suggested using a proportion of Nantlle Valley unemployed skilled labour in the Dinorvic and Penrhyn Quarries. The Ferodo Factory was opened at Griffiths Crossing, Caernarvon on 17th July 1961.
