Administrative / Biographical History
Geoffrey Milne was born in 1898 and educated at Hymers College in Hull and Leeds University. During 1917-1919 he was on military service. In September 1923 he was appointed as an assistant lecturer at Leeds University. Five years later, in September 1928, he was appointed to the post of soil chemist at the East African Agricultural Research Station in Amani, Tanganyika Territory.
