Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
A local poet, storywriter and dramatist Ted Walker was born in Lancing, West Sussex in 1934. During his career was the Head of Modern Language at a school in Bognor Regis between 1963 - 1965, he then went on to become a Professor of Creative Writing and English Literature at New England College, West Sussex from 1971 - 1992.
He has won many awards and bursaries for his work these include, the Eric Gregory Award (1964), the Cholmondeley Award (1966), the Alice Hunt Bartlett Award and the Southern Arts Association Literature Prize as well as being nominated for a BAFTA for best screenplay in the category 'Children's Films'.
