Scope and Content

Xerox copy, from microfilm (MS. Film Dep. 914-6) of Mr A.N.L. Munby's annotated copy of the catalogues of Sir Thomas Phillipps' manuscripts (with continuations). The annotations give the sale numbers and present wherabouts where known.

Administrative / Biographical History

Alan Noel Latimer Munby (1913-74) was a librarian, bibliographer, historian and book collector. Sir Thomas Phillipps, Baronet, (1792-1872) was an antiquary, collector of manuscripts and books. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.
