Administrative / Biographical History

Thomas Edmund Ashdown Carr (b. 1883 at Hexham, Northumberland) was educated at Lancing College and Guy's Hospital, University of London. As Captain, later Major, RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps), he served in India and Ireland. Later, he was attached to the 2nd/7th Sherwood Foresters and served on the Western Front. He was captured, 21 Mar. 1918, and held as a POW (Prisoner of War) at Limburg and Langensalza, near Thurengen. He served in France, the Pacific, and India during the Second World War.
