This is a collection of letters, transcripts and other papers kept by Douglas Gray of Perth, all relating to Sherard and his writings on his friendship with Oscar Wilde in Paris in the 1890s and his aggressive defence of Wilde by means of various publications.

Acquisition Information

Douglas Gray's collection of letters from Sherard and his wife Muriel came into the possession of Ian Laurenson of Monash University, by whom they were presented to Cambridge University Library in 1980.
