Administrative / Biographical History

Dr William Hugh Miller MB BS (1904-1990) graduated from Guy's Hospital in 1928, and arrived in Mundesley, Norfolk, to take over the practice there in July 1930. His wife Dorothy joined him in November after their marriage on 01 November 1930. According to an obituary in the BMJ (Volume 302, 02 Feb 1991), Miller 'built up the village practice virtually single-handedly, with the able help and support of his wife, Dorothy, who was a nurse at Guy's.' His son also trained at Guy's Hospital and joined the practice in 1963, later taking over from his father.

Dr Miller retired from general practice in Mundesley in the early 1970s. He died on 28 May 1990, a week before his 86th birthday.
