Scope and Content

Thomas Carrow of Swaffham Bulbeck devises to his son William Carrow and his heirs for ever certain property in Swaffham, provided that he pay a certain sum yearly to the testator's daughter Elizabeth Carrow till she attain her majority and a certain sum at her attaining it and a further sum at a later date; if he fail to pay she is to enter upon the property; he bequeathes to his daughter Elizabeth certain personal property; he devises to his son Thomas Carrow and his heirs for ever certain land in Swaffham; he bequeathes certain property to the same; his daughter Elizabeth may wave (sic) the lands and come upon his executor for satisfaction; the residue to William Carrow whom he appoints executor; he appoints his kinsman William Peacock supervisor to his sons; he desires his sister-in-law Anne, wife of Thomas Creake, to assist his daughter. Witnesses: Alice Peacock, William Peacock, James Robinson. Certificate of Probate in Latin is attached.

Acquisition Information

Purchased from John Whitaker, Cambridge (from Hove, Sussex) 13 August 1917 (With this cf Add 5958(14), the original of which was bought from E. Williams, 37 New Town, Hove, Sussex. Mr Whitaker's lot from Hove presumably came from the same vendor.
