Scope and Content

Lennox Berkeley's published works, and various manuscripts and sketches, including manuscript of Hail Holy Queen, and sketches from Violin concerto, Oboe quartet and Dinner Engagement.

Printed and manuscript music formerly belonging to Lennox by other composers.

Some of these items bear signed inscriptions to Lennox from the composers of the works. There is also printed and manuscript music by Nelly Berkeley and Arthur Jackson, Arnold Schönberg's Pierrot Lunaire given as a music prize to E Benjamin Britten at Gresham's School Holt in 1930, and libretto for Castaway with manuscript corrections and revisions 28 Nov 1967.
