Story of Parks oral history collection, 2015-2017

Scope and Content

This oral history collection consists of 39 interviews taken as part of the Story of Parks Heritage Lottery Funded Project coordinated by Leicester City Council, running from 2015 to 2018. Oral history testimonies were taken between June 2015 and February 2017 and explore the significance of Leicester’s parks and green spaces to local residents.

Administrative / Biographical History

The project hosted a variety of community engagement events to encourage the people of Leicester to learn about the history of their local parks and green spaces. Oral histories were condcuted between June 2015- February 2017 and were deposited with EMOHA on 7th September 2018.
