Scope and Content

Joanna Willowes of Shefford , widow of Thomas Willowes of the same, in consideration of a bond securing her an annuity, Thomas Squire of Southill and Mary his wife, and Joseph Cole of Shefford, attorney of Thomas Sheffield of Bancott, Gloucestershire, and Ferrian Sheffield of Covent Garden, London release to George Hailey of Shefford certain land in Shefford in his actual possession by indenture of lease dated the previous day, to him and his heirs to the use of him and his heirs for ever. Thomas Squire and Mary his wife agree to levy a fine of the property by a certain date. Witnesses: John Willowes, Jane Nettleton. On the back are three receipts for the bond and consideration money signed by Joanna Willowes, Thomas Squire and Joseph Cole. Witnesses: the same.
