This oral history collection comprises 41 interviews with people who fled Uganda in 1972 when Idi Amin gave an expulsion order to all Asian people living in the country. 2022 marks the anniversary of the exodus and this project looked at the lives of these people 50 years on.

Administrative / Biographical History
The Uganda 50 project was undertaken by Navrang Arts with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. As well as the oral histories, the project created a series of talks, events, and an exhibition that was displayed at Leicester Museum in the spring of 2023.
