Research papers and family history of Theodore White, 1935-1975, comprising theses on chemical and biochemical subjects, submitted to the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, 1935-1939; reports on the industrial extraction of wood products in India, 1964-1968, and on the Quebracho (tanning product) industry, 1971-1975; offprints of articles from scientific journals; and a copy of the donor's family history, which partly relates to the Rhondda, home of his maternal ancestors, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Dr Theodore White (b. 1912) was a scientific and development consultant. He studied for honours degrees and a postgraduate qualification at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, 1935-1939, and apparently he spent part of his career as an industrial chemist, specialising in wood extraction products, 1964-1975. He appeared to have taken some interest in the history of his family who, on his mother's side, originated from the Rhondda.
