Administrative / Biographical History
Begg Cousland & Co Ltd was incorporated as a limited liability company in 1924 in Bridgeton, Glasgow, Scotland as a wire working and wire cloth manufacturers. However, the company had been in operation as a family partnership from at least the 1860s and remained a family concern in 2002. Their product range included woven wire, gas/liquid separators, hydrophobic fibre filters, bescosyn woven synthetics, wire brushes and brooms, heat treatment accessories, becomantine quarry screens, wire work, quench dripping and process baskets, and spiral wire conveyor belts. In 2002, the company still operated from Bridgeton as a specialist manufacturer in filtration systems.
