Extent:315 ff. (paginated 1-625; bound in incorrect order) ; 200 x 130 mm. Rebound, [early 19 cent.], in blind-tooled pigskin, on five raised bands with 'BRITISH POETRIE MS.' and 'PORKINGTON MANUSCRIPT No 13' in gilt on spine; inlaid into each cover is a blind-stamped panel, 180 x 120 mm., from a binding, [1515x1533], by Nicholas Spierinck (d. 1545/6) of Cambridge, using his signed roll of wyvern, gryphon and lion (Oldham no. 562, cf. Howard M. Nixon, Five Centuries of English Bookbinding (London, 1978), no. 7, pp. 26-27), together with a diaper roll (Oldham no. 604); the two panels are from a single cover which was bisected horizontally and the originally vertical design is now positioned horizontally.
