(1 complete sequence of foliation dated 1994 on fol. ivr: ii + 181 + iii-iv leaves; also an integral foliation in the top right margin starting on fol. 4r: 1-15 17-179 leaves). Stub between fols 18 and 19 corresponding with the jump in the contemporary foliation (no apparent loss of text). Binding: 17th c. black morocco over pasteboard. Gilt fillet with interior and exterior toothed ornament as border to boards, gilt floral stamps as interior corner ornaments, and ornate gilt centrepiece. Fixing holes for 2 ties on each board. Board edges gold tooled. Single gilt fillet with exterior toothed ornament inside boards surrounding join to plain paper pastedowns. Spine divided into 6 compartments by gilt fillets with toothed ornament above and below, with a gilt diamond shaped floral ornament central to each (shelfmark stamped in gilt over top floral ornament). All edges gilt with shelfmark in black ink centrally to fore-edge. Binding dimensions: 193 x 147 mm

Binding: Contemporary dark brown calf over pasteboard. Gilt single fillet border, panel with exterior floral corner ornaments, and centrepiece (Stuart Royal arms). Fixing holes for 2 ties on each board. Board edges gold tooled. Spine divided into 5 compartments by 4 raised bands defined by single gilt fillets, with a gilt foliate ornament central to each (shelfmark stamped in gilt over top floral ornament). All edges gilt with shelfmark in black ink centrally to fore-edge. Repaired & rebacked, May 1972, by J. & D. [i.e. Jackson & Dennett] (note rear pastedown). Binding dimensions: 190 x 149 mm
