Manual encoding
Links/external references
To link to other online resources or information, use EAD format <extref href=" ">, not the HTML element <a href="">.
It is also good practice to repeat the web or email address as the link text, so that this information will still be available to users using assistive software, or if the user prints out the webpage:
<extref href="http://www.jisc.ac.uk/">http://www.jisc.ac.uk/</extref>
An email contact address can be made a link this way, using "mailto:" in place of "http://":
<extref href="mailto:archiveshub@jisc.ac.uk">
archiveshub@jisc.ac.uk</extref>
EAD also supports the title attribute in links:
<extref href="http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/" title="National Archives website">www.nationalarchives.gov.uk</extref>
You can also create links to other Hub descriptions, and to digital objects.
