Data Creation
Mandatory Fields
The Hub descriptions are based on the fields used in an ISAD(G) description, but with additions, to ensure they are effective in an online environment. For example, we ask for language and extent at the top level of a description.

Lower level entries
Lower level entries only need a level value, a reference and title, although it is recommended to add dates if possible.
Our aim is to ensure that researchers get a sense of the relevance of the collection for their research. We try to balance this with a pragmatic approach to what is reasonable in terms of mandatory fields and cataloguing standards.
