John Wallace & Co Ltd were whisky blenders and wine and spirit merchants with offices at 81 George Street and 26 Loch Street in Aberdeen, Scotland. The company was taken over by William Murray & Co Ltd, brewers in Edinburgh, Scotland, in c1946. The company was certainly in existence between 1951 and 1959. John Wallace & Co Ltd owned the following businesses: the grocery shops in 47 Commerce Street and 212 Gallowgate in Aberdeen and the licensed houses "The St Andrew's Bar", "The Neptune Bar" and "The Balaclava Bar". No more is known about the company's history to date.

The collection was previously stored with the rest of the Scottish Brewing Archive at Heriot–Watt University. It moved to the University of Glasgow in 1991. It moved to the University of Glasgow in 1991. Custody of the Scottish Brewing Archive was transferred to Glasgow University Archive Services in 2008.
