Administrative / Biographical History

The society was formed in 1975 as the Gay Students' Society. This developed into the Les-Bi-Gay society, which was renamed the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Students' Association (or LGBT) in 2000 to include transgender people. The society runs regular weekly drop -in sessions, social outings and a befriendment service. The association has a website which offers advice to LGBT students and links to other forms of help and support. The association campaigns on political health and social issues affecting LGBT people.
