Light engineering and plumbing firm, Greenock, Inverclyde, Scotland.
Scott Lithgow Ltd , Greenock, took over Mitchell Swire Ltd in 1973 and split one of its subsidiary companies, James Mitchell & Son Co Ltd , Greenock, into two companies, namely Greenock Engineering Co Ltd and Inchgreen Engineering Co Ltd.
In 1977, Greenock Engineering Co Ltd was nationalised as part of Scott Lithgow Group and British Shipbuilders became the ultimate holding company. The company never traded from its incorporation and was liquidated in 1979-1980.
