Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Glasgow University Model United Nations Debating Society was founded in 2009 by Isolde Boyd and Alisa “George” Dewan as a society established to promote and draw attention to the UN style of international debate through role-play and discussions and sending delegates to conferences world-wide. The first two years experienced much support and growth within the society and an executive committee was elected as well as a constitution ratified. The end of the 2010 academic year brought the resignation of one of the founding members and the election of new leadership with new ideologies. Decreased membership and a lack of conference attendance led to disbanding of the society, though presently (Nov. 2011) it is unclear whether the society still exists.
